Alvbage became Viborg's record transfer purchase when the Danish side paid IFK Gothenburg just over £2million for his services last year. The 23-year-old started his career with his local club Vastra Frolunda and moved to Orebro SK in 2003 before joining Gothenburg two years later. However, he spent just six months with the Swedish outfit before his big-money switch to Viborg. He helped to guide his club to a fourth-placed finish in his first season in Denmark.
