The 23-year-old is one of Sweden's most promising players and he has enjoyed a successful season in France with Rennes. He is likely to play just behind the front two in Germany, and is a regular goalscorer for both club and country. He starred for Rennes in their 2005-05 UEFA Cup campaign, his third season in France following his transfer from Djurgardens IF in 2003. He reached double figures in both his seasons with the club after starting his career with BK Hacken. Kallstrom won a call-up to the Sweden squad for Euro 2004 in Portugal.
