The 21-year-old has benefited from Arsene Wenger's faith in youth and has already made over 50 appearances for Arsenal since his switch from Servette three years ago. Senderos stood in for the troubled Sol Campbell at times during the 2004-05 campaign and impressed sufficiently to keep his place in the team for the FA Cup Final victory against Manchester United. His performances dipped in the first half of the 2005-06 season but his return to form coincided with the Gunners' run to the Champions League Final. He made his international debut in the World Cup qualifier against France in March 2005 and netted a crucial goal in the controversial play-off success against Turkey.
