The Togo captain has a difficult job in Germany trying to lift the Hawks after their disastrous African Cup of Nations campaign. He fell out with Emmanuel Adebayor in Egypt when he said the Arsenal striker betrayed his country when he refused to play against DR Congo following an argument with coach Stephen Keshi. Abalo has won almost 100 caps for his country and is currently playing for Cypriot club Apoel Nicosia after spending a decade at SC Amiens. Earlier in his career he played for Lome-based side Agaza FC before moving to French minnows Saint-Christophe and on to second division Amiens. After being released by Amiens he enjoyed a brief spell with Dunkirk before moving to Cyprus.
