The 25-year-old could struggle to start in Germany after enduring a very shaky time at the African Cup of Nations. Assemoassa was born in France and began his career with his hometown club Olympique Lyon. However, after failing to break in to the first-team squad he was transferred to Ligue 2 outfit Clermond Foot where he spent four seasons. The left-back became the club's captain before moving to Spanish second division club Murcia.
