Solid midfielder who like many of his team-mates was born in France. Chadli made his first-team club debut for Saint-Etienne in 1995, but after more than a decade in French football with Lens and Istres he was converted to a defensive midfielder. Last summer the 29-year-old moved to Germany with Nuremberg but has struggled to make an impact in the Bundesliga and made only a handful of starts. Chadli scored on his international debut against Senegal in 1996 but did not represent Tunisia again until 2003 because he was a former French youth international. Likely to be used as a squad player in Germany due to his recent lack of first-team action.
