The 30-year-old holding midfielder burst on to the international scene with an outstanding performance at the 1996 African Cup of Nations finals in South Africa as Tunisia finished as surprise runners-up. Since then he has been a high-profile part of the Tunisian midfield and has participated in the last two World Cup finals. With more than 80 caps he is one of the most decorated members of the current squad and the former Arab Player of the Year now plies his trade in Turkey with Samsunspor.
