The Vorskla Poltava keeper was a surprise call-up by coach Oleg Blokhin, having won promotion from the Under-21 set-up. Got the nod ahead of the much more experienced Vitaliy Reva, with Blokhin also seeing another possible back-up, Maxym Startsev, ruled out by injury. Will play for the junior side in the European Under-21 Championships in Portugal, before linking up with the senior squad in Germany.
