One of the world's finest and most feared strikers. Shevchenko made his name as a prolific striker with the dominant Dynamo Kyiv side of the late 1990s and in 1999 made a £20million move to Italian giants AC Milan. At the San Siro his goals have helped the Rossoneri win the Serie A title and the Champions League in the 2001-02 season, before he himself was named European Footballer of the Year in 2004. Led the national team to their first World Cup finals this summer where, at 29 years of age, he is reaching the peak of his powers. With stories of a summer switch to Chelsea being banded around in the media this could be an interesting few months for the player regarded as Ukraine's best ever.
