Bobby Convey will head to the World Cup finals in confident mood after enjoying a stunning season with Reading. The left winger scored seven times in 45 appearances as the Royals stormed to the Championship title, justifying Steve Coppell's decision to spend a club record £850,000 to sign him from DC United in 2004. Convey has also made a major impact on the international stage, representing the USA at the 1999 FIFA Under-17 World Cup and the 2001 and 2003 FIFA World Youth Championships. He became the third youngest player in the history of the USA's national team when he appeared as a late substitute against Mexico in 2000 and has already amassed over 35 senior caps.
