One of the most under-rated players in the Premiership, Fulham striker Brian McBride will be taking part in his third World Cup finals in Germany. The old-fashioned centre-forward scored the only goal of the USA's nightmare France 98 campaign and was on target twice as they marched to the quarter-finals at Korea and Japan 2002. The veteran, who reached the 90-cap mark last year, spent most of his club career with Columbus Crew and is regarded as one of the best strikers in the brief history of the MLS. His aerial prowess saw him singled out as someone who could succeed in England and he had loan spells with Preston and Everton before joining Fulham in a £600,000 deal in January 2004.
