Venue
Nuremberg
City: Nuremberg
Venue: Franken-Stadion
Capacity: 36,898
Bundesliga teams: 1. FC Nurnberg

The Frankenstadion will have a capacity of just under 37,000 for its five World Cup matches following the completion of an eco-friendly refit.

The 56million euros project was undertaken to update FC Nuremberg's home, despite the venue being modernised and renamed just 15 years ago.

The most recent rebuild was completed in 2005 and the venue hosted several Confederations Cup fixtures last summer, including the semi-final meeting between Germany and Brazil.

The ground was opened under its original name, the Municipal Stadium, in 1928 when Nuremberg boasted the best football team in Germany.

The club won the national championship five times in the 1920s, but have been starved of success in recent years, with the most recent of their nine titles coming in 1968.

Despite the venue's relatively small capacity, England's Group B clash against Trinidad & Tobago will take place at the Frankenstadion on June 15.

By that time Mexico and Iran will already have introduced World Cup football to Nuremberg.

Japan's encounter with Croatia and Ghana's meeting with USA will also take place in the city, together with a second stage game on June 25.
